Abstract

In recent years, the Fintech ecosystem in Chile has become an important part of the national financial system. This growth has been driven by technological progress and by the need for faster, simpler, and more accessible financial services. Fintech companies have allowed more people to access financial products, breaking the rigidity of the traditional banking system and bringing technology closer to groups that were previously excluded. It is not only an economic change, but also a social transformation that is redefining the way people understand and use money. The main purpose of this research was to analyze the opportunities and challenges faced by Fintech startups in Chile, considering how innovation, regulation, trust, and financial inclusion are connected within the same environment. The study aimed to understand how these elements influence the development of the ecosystem and how ready the country is to maintain a more modern and fairer financial model. The study followed a qualitative approach with an exploratory and descriptive design. A documentary analysis of academic articles obtained from indexed databases was carried out, using ATLAS.ti software to identify categories, relations, and patterns within the Chilean Fintech ecosystem. The results show that technological innovation is the main driver of growth, but its sustainability depends on clear regulation, financial education, and user trust. It is concluded that Fintech development in Chile is advancing strongly, but it still needs to strengthen its social and regulatory dimensions to ensure a fair and lasting impact.
