Abstract

The study evaluates the degree of achievement of the goals outlined in the strategic objectives of the National Policy for Science, Technology, and Innovation (PNCTI) in Paraguay until the year 2030. The main purpose was to analyze the fulfillment of the goals set in the PNCTI to improve the indicators of Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) in Paraguay. Methodologically, it underwent an initial descriptive phase, followed by a comparative, explanatory, predictive, and projective analysis. The study included a prospective analysis to provide a vision of the future regarding the fulfillment of PNCTI and Sustainable Development Goal number 9. The goals set in the strategic objectives of PNCTI were examined, evaluating both their current degree of accomplishment and their projection until the year 2030. In conclusion, it was determined that Paraguay has made progress in certain aspects; however, the country still faces significant challenges in achieving the established goals. Increasing investment in Research and Development (R&D), fostering knowledge generation, promoting innovation, and enhancing social appropriation of knowledge are crucial. These actions are fundamental to drive the economic and social development of the country and thus ensure a more prosperous and sustainable future.
