The concept of decent work

The objective is to criticize the concept of Decent Work of the International Labor Organization - ILO. It broke the concept coined by Juan Somávia, then director general of the ILO, into five parts. Critical literature was based on the analysis of fragmented categories from the authors Harvey (1992, 2011); Proni and Rocha (2010); Coutinho (2010); Simionatto (2014); Silva and Barbosa (2016) Beltramilli Neto and Voltani (2019); Gonçalves (2019) etc. It was identified that the 'Decent Work' proposal is progressive, but omits its existing contradictions. It is concluded that the term Decent Work is bound to not overcome or overcome the fight against poverty and precariousness of work without, however, guiding the generator of such problems: the excessive exploitation of the working class by capital and the expropriation of its meager rights for the purpose of maintaining and maximizing capitalist profits.
