Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- I have read and the manuscript follows the stylistic and biliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
- The article has not been previously published and is not being submitted for consideration by any other journal (or has provided an explanation in the Comments to the Editor).
- The manuscript is in Microsoft Word file.
- References follow the modified Vancouver rules, and when possible the DOI is provided from those that possess.
Letters to the Editor
Short Notes, a maximum of 1000 words, with opinions of readers about published articles or comments related to the Journal, dental research in general and/or any article published in this journal. You can have up to 5 references, do not include summaries and can have a maximum of 2 authors.
Research
Includes research in dentistry and other complementary and applied areas to discipline. The maximum length of the manuscript is 5000 words, in addition to until 40 references updated and justified. For observational studies (cross-sectional, cohort or case-control) the use the STROBE Statement (STrengthening the Reporting of OBservational studies in Epidemiology) is suggested. For experimental studies using the Guide CONSORT (CONsolidated Standards Of Reporting Trials) is suggested. There is not a maximum number of authors.
Reviews
Can be systematic or narrative reviews. The maximum length of manuscripts is 7500 words, in addition to until 80 references updated and justified. For systematic reviews, the use of the PRISMA Statement (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses) is suggested. There is not a maximum of authors for systematic reviews and meta-analyzes. Reviews of narrative type can have a maximum of 3 authors.
Case Reports
Clinical cases or case series that must have an academic and scientific relevance, and should take care of the bioethical component. The maximum length of the manuscript is 4000 words and 20 references updated and justified. Clinical cases can have a maximum of 5 authors.
Short communication
An opportunity for the presentation of preliminary or brief observations that do not warrant a full paper, with a maximum of 3000 words, and until to 10 references. A maximun of one table and/or one figure can be accepted. Do not include abstract and can have a maximum of 3 authors.
Special article
Special article: Including opinion articles, experts interviews, clinical-academic contributions and invited reviews up to 3000 words. Articles that reflect opinions and advances associated with clinic and academia, which stimulate scientific debate, contributing to knowledge in the field. The content does not need to have a defined structure.
