Abstract

The article, which aesthetically identifies and analyzes recent Chilean documentaries on prisons, warns of the descriptive replacement of the judicial mechanism, the punitive procedure and the alternate social norm as conventional topics of prison, by revealing original facets of imprisoned subjectivity expressed by the exacerbated role of the words and bodies of the prisoners. In order to disconnect the political aspects of these documentaries from the topic of the dictatorship, the article subjects its prison corpus to the exegesis of various philosophical theories on discipline and visibility as a spatial sense of the contemporary.
