Abstract

Within the framework of the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the civil-military coup in Chile, various approaches to horror were presented. The historical catastrophe not only delimited the lives of those who suffered it, but also rearticulated the ways in which bodies were presented in public space. The essay presents aspects of autobiography and theater in times of barbarism (1974) and asks two actors how they transformed horror into indomitable bodies that, acting, displaced the impossibility of dreams. An anecdote from Heiner Müller presents the problem that will be discussed throughout the essay.
