Abstract

The Putaendo mountain range is a mountain territory, supporting a large Cultural Route in which various Historical elements assemble – mainly the passage of the Andes Army in 1817 – natural, cultural and transhumant ways of life rich in tradition and folklore, that testify to centuries of domestication and humanization of the high Andes.

The article, highlights the main synchronous Historical and cultural elements, inscribed in the Geography of Putaendo, in order to provide interpretive keys, for a future declaration as a Historic Monument and recognition as a Heritage Route with universal value, in favor of its conservation, protection and enhancement.
