Abstract

Natural history objects have had crucial encounters for their creation and evaluation. The first of these was with Art in the 19th century and generated objects of aesthetic beauty and scientific precision that helped the development of Natural History through the dissemination and circulation of knowledge. A second encounter is with the digital (21st century), using resources such as the internet and the digitization of collections.
