Experiencia del sentir en la arquitectura vernácula en la ciudad de Cochrane, Región de Aysén, Chile

Abstract

This manuscript will address the analysis and study of vernacular architectural works of the Cochrane commune, through a journey that entails from the materiality used by the first settlers of the area to settle in inhospitable and extreme lands, going through the sensation produced by the construction itself, to the symbols they create to be recognized over time. The materiality will be our first approach to the perception of the immediate environment, the Landscape, given by its geographical condition. In this way, it can be understood between individuals, however, despite the fact that the signs are a cultural formation, the memory that is generated by them in each one will be subjective and proper. That is, what is observed is assimilated to integrate it into individual perception: phenomenological apprehension. The experience in the place invites us to understand the sensitive relationships of the human and the phenomenological nature, deconstructing the anthropocentric vision where there is no sensitivity to the environment, giving a more intimate and intuitive meaning to inhabiting.

This is how this research is presented as a systematization of an experience where the observation and recording of the ways of living typical of southern Chile, in the city of Cochrane, Aysen region, give rise to an initial typology of living, derived from selected case studies.
