Abstract

This manuscript seeks to show and reflect on the factors and actors that generate an absence or little relationship in the dialogue between the academy and the city, it is the main subject that this study tries to address, in addition to documenting the production of an editorial gesture of the magazine COTA, which tries to collaborate in the meeting between both instances to generate an intellectual, cultural and democratic growth of society in the city.

Cota Magazine has been understood since its inception as an academic and professional publication on the city, but dedicated to the general public, thus marking the difference with other publications in the same field, considering promoting the opening of knowledge about the current situation of our city and architecture. in an innovative and creative publication; establish itself as an instrument for the dissemination of works generated both in the academic field and in the professional development of each discipline; as well as to stimulate in the citizen the reading of the critical vision and the construction of a multidisciplinary look on the city; and finally strengthen the commitment of readers and citizens and improve coexistence with the inhabited space.

To date there are already seven editions published, with a print run of three thousand copies per number, thus arising the need to identify if the start-up of the Revista Cota project has managed to meet the editorial objectives for which it was established, created, recognizing in turn, what have been the elements valued by columnists, readers and
academic groups regarding the initiative, allowing with this information to strengthen the project and project itself in a concrete sense and in order with the expectations that arise from the study.

The foregoing is also considered as a way of moving from the monodisciplinary to the multi or trans-disciplinary, in a space that would allow others to obtain a more collaborative look between the specialties, always from the role of architecture as a discipline. mother who invites to develop themes that are her own but converge with others.
