Imaginaries of transference in psychotherapy

Abstract

This article is focused on the individuality, identity, and female psyche in terms of development and progression towards individuation and self-realization in psychotherapy, considering the essential aspects of psychic dynamics studied by various classical authors such as Sigmund Freud, Carl Gustav Jung, and Carl Rogers, among the best known.
Understanding the imaginary as the psychic reality of the patient when attending a psychotherapy session, the archetypes Anima and Animus appear spontaneously and unconsciously to the patient, within a phenomenon called “transference” with his or her therapist. This unconscious phenomenon occurs equally on men and women.
