Resumen

La obra Seeing like a State, de James C. Scott, ofrece una descripción del saber-cómo socialmente relevante que caracteriza a los modelos de orden social vividos con éxito, a los que denomina mêtis. En este artículo, examino las ideas de Scott sobre la mêtis y planteo algunas cuestiones sobre casos en los que la necesidad de mêtis no se satisface fácilmente, basándome en diversos ejemplos del ámbito de los estudios sobre desastres.
