The main objective of this article is to reflect on two important things for the suffering and punished Valparaíso of today. On one hand, the protection of memory —the heritage in all its meanings— as the main element of the roots, identity and local culture; and how to generate an economy in this destroyed city generating a better city to live in and a better city to invest in, through the design and added value of the Valparaíso habitat. Things that belongs to all of us, because the city is a collective invention. That is, to produce a paradigmatic change through urban planning to generate wealth that reaches everyone and not continue to distribute poverty as before, because the system that governs Valparaíso today and for the last 50 years has failed.
